G8 summit - international reserve currency
July 7th, 2009
This week, the G8 plus China, India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa and Egypt are getting together in Italy to put the world to rights. According to the G8 secretariat, China requested that international reserve currency issues be discussed at the meeting. According to China, they did not, but their foreign affairs spokesman thought it would be ‘natural’ for the topic to come up. I have an op-ed on the subject in today’s South China Morning Post which you can read here.
